A day after Congress President Sonia Gandhi met the family of a Dalit teenaged girl, who immolated herself after being allegedly gang-raped, three more rape cases have been reported in Haryana on Wednesday (Oct 10), making it 15 rapes in a month's time in the state. Despite Sonias assurances of strict action against the culprits, the Congress is trying hard to defend Harayana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda saying he is not sitting with hands tied and argued that crime is rising everywhere. Even as the Home Ministry seeks a report from the state government, former Haryana Chief Minister and opposition leader Om Prakash Chautala has endorsed Khap Panchayat's theory of having girls married off at a young age to prevent rapes.

In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Abhay Chautala, Senior Leader, Indian National Lok Dal; Kuldeep Bishnoi, MP Lok Sabha , Haryana Janhit Congress; Chiranjeev Rao, President of the Haryana Youth Congress; Kirti Singh, Legal Convenor, All India Democratic Women's Association; Vinod Kumar Tikoo, Member , NCPCR and Vandana Kohli, Filmmaker, FTII -- discuss whether action should be taken against Choutala for condoling and not condemning the Khaps.
