Honey doesn't have to be just one color.

Honey is usually amber in color, but it can vary slightly depending on composition.

So, what would cause honey to be green and blue? Well, that’s what beekeepers in France were wondering too. When they launched an investigation into what was causing the mysterious honey colors, bee workers found that a nearby biogas plant was producing waste from a Mars plant. Mars is the company behind M&M's. So, beekeepers came to the conclusion that the bees had been snacking in containers that held the M&M waste, rather than pollinating flowers.

The biogas plant claims that they are taking actions to stop the odd incident from occurring again. According to BBC, the bee population has been declining in past years, meaning honey is not as easily attainable as it once was. This year, beekeepers from various parts of the world have seen a ‘honey drought’. Bee caretakers in France can now be added to that list, as the colored honey has been deemed ‘unsellable’.
