    A political shake up is on the horizon in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region. One of the region’s two ruling parties - the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, or PUK - is now on board for plans to change the region’s political system from presidential to parliamentary. Gaining support from PUK leader and current Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is a major victory for the region’s main opposition party - the Gorran Movement.
