That's the rocket that's aiming to break the land speed record and the man who aims to drive the car.
On Wednesday, the Bloodhound team successfully tested the rocket in the English town of Newquay, clearing another hurdle in their attempt to build a car that can top one thousand miles per hour.
The British team has been working on the car for four years. With the Bloodhound Supersonic Car, they aim to break the current land speed record of 763 miles per hour, set by the Thrust SSC. That car was also built by the same team 15 years ago.
The test lasted a few seconds, but everything seemed to go perfectly. The thirty thousand horsepower hybrid rocket engine uses an F1 engine just to pump in the peroxide-based fuel. Data from the test shows it produced 14200 pounds of thrust. Later tests in the year will push the engine harder; the engine is designed to generate 27500 pounds of thrust, the equivalent of 80 thousand horsepower.

"The overall objective is to create a 1000-miles-an-hour world land speed record, which means to pass it over the measured mile. We are going through the measured mile at about 3.6 seconds."
The team aims to put the car together later this year, with an 850 mph attempt next year and the 1000 mph attempt in 2014.
