Tens of thousands crowd to the week-long 2012 Liuzhou International Water Carnival in southern China.

The highlight of the carnival—a bewildering parade—featuring giant floats and exotic Samba dance performances.

Another major part of the carnival is a five-day air show. Viewers watch the impressive aerial moves, and pilots demonstrate their skills by flying under a bridge.

Meanwhile, the carnival doesn't skimp on gourmet delights—more than 15,000 people enjoyed "luosifen", a famous local rice noodle dish. The noodles were cooked in a huge pot, 15 meters wide.

[Local Resident]:
"'Luosifen' tastes great when I eat it alone, but today it tastes even more delicious when I down it with more than 10,000 people."

The carnival also featured a bird-man contest, a model show and acrobatic performances by the theatre group La Fura dels Baus.
