GOLD COAST, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, February 22, 2011) -- World no.4 ranked surfer TAJ BURROW (Aus) said today that he has never been more prepared for the season-opening ASP World Title event on the Gold Coast - the 2011 Quiksilver Pro presented by Land Rover - which is set to commence this weekend.

The defending event champion fine-tuned his equipment and boosted his confidence with a World Qualifying Series (WQS) win at Burleigh Heads last Sunday.
Burrow, who has featured in the top five for the majority of the past decade, said winning an illusive world title would mean everything to him.
The 32 year old added that he was happy to hear that the sand was being pumped onto the Snapper Rocks bank each night until the Quiksilver Pro commences in a bid to perfect the sand-bottom, point-break wave.
The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast will run from February 26 through March 9, 2011 and will be webcast LIVE via http://www.quiksilverpro.com
ROXY PRO presented by Land Rover: ASP Women's World Title Event.
The ASP Top 17 will spring back into action this weekend for the opening ASP event, the Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover.
Boasting a waiting period of February 26 through March 9, 2011, the Roxy Pro Gold Coast will feature the world's best female surfers as they start their respective campaigns for the 2011 ASP Women's World Title.
World No. 2 Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), is keen to get back into the competition singlet following an off-season spent traipsing up and down the Eastern seaboard of Australia.
A fit and focused Fitzgibbons said she is out to better last year's quarterfinal result at the Gold Coast event.
The twenty year-old added that she expects four-time world champion STEPHANIE GILMORE (AUS) to come out firing at her local break.
Gilmore has obviously not enjoyed the lead-in she would have liked, due to an assault in late December, that has kept the defending Roxy Pro champion 'out of the water' with a fractured wrist.
Running in conjunction with the women's event will be the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover, the opening event in the ASP World Title season.
The Roxy Pro Gold Coast will run from February 26 through March 9, 2011 and will be webcast LIVE via http://www.quiksilverpro.com
