A devastating storm ripped through Paraguay Tuesday night, killing four people.
The worst hit was a military command unit where 3 people died and another 20 were injured.
[Oscar Roy, Military Hospital Director]:
"Of the 23 cadets, and a non-commissioned officer, three were killed and three of them were taken to emergency because they were seriously hurt and we couldn't assist them here.”
The storm also caused extensive damage to houses and cars.
Here a massive cellular antenna has fallen on a house.
[Silvio Molinari, Local Resident]:
"We calculated that it was a tornado that hit us because of the magnitude of the damages, this wasn't a normal storm. It was very quick. In less than two minutes, everything was already in chaos.”
Others homes were left without doors or rooftops.
[Cristina Perez, Storm Victim]:
"The door blew to my daughter's bedroom, and it was raining there more than outside, because everything blew the tiles [from the roof]. We were left with just the large tile, nothing else.”
The storm took many by surprise, coming and going in just 30 minutes, leaving a wake of destruction.
