Pakistan vs England 1st World Cup Warm Up Match 2012 Highlights | Live Streaming 19-09-2012

6 years ago2.8K views Pakistani team must be feeling bolstered with the return of Shahid Khan Afridi who was absent in much of the series against Australia played in the desert kingdom of United Arab Emirates. He seems to be fully recovered from the injury and with Saeed Ajmal, he is a very threatening bowler in the Sri Lankan pitches.

Meanwhile England were able to beat Australia in a very interesting match that look one sided one moment and competitive the other. But towards the end, it was very competitive and England were able to win the match as Aussies continued to lose wickets with regular intervals.

In 20 overs England made explosive start and were able to go for a huge total of 172 runs. Hales scored made his side’s highest contribution by the bat by scoring 52 runs in just 38 balls, while Wright was able to score 35 runs in 29 balls. Morgan played a great inning of 30 runs in just 16 balls.

The 172 run total never looked very easy as the beginning didn’t seem very promising for Australia and they lost their first wicket in the first over itself. Watson scored 37 runs off 26 balls, but it was MEK Hussey who destroyed England bowling by scoring 71 runs in 52 balls. His inning included six magnificent sixes as well. But after him no one was able to score runs and so the team lost with 9 runs.

But extras seem to have also contributed for Australia’s defeat. They gave away 16 extras in merely 20 overs inning. But they should thank their stars that it was only a warm up match and will not matter much during the tournament.
