The Yacht Has Origami Design - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
An Italian designer took home the 2009 Millennium Yacht Design Award for an origami styled boat.
Dubbed as a superyacht, its walls fold which allow it to reach higher speeds.
While the yacht is folded or closed, it resembles a torpedo and the aerodynamic design allows for faster ocean cruising.
When the boat is unfolded, or opened, the luxury aspect is revealed, showing a massive living area. The designer told CNN, “I wanted to create a yacht that had an entirely different image from the other boats and wanted an opposite styling to their soft and flowing lines."
The origami boat offers a 360 degree view. It can operate for several hours with zero emissions, letting ocean goers experience a silent, peaceful cruise.
There's the shower that opens directly into the ocean and the glass roof also houses two hammocks.
What do you think about the origami yacht design? Would you like to own one of these?
