Pope calls for peace in Lebanon visit
Security is fragile in Lebanon, where sectarian anger from the conflict in neighbouring Syria has spilled over in waves of deadly violence between Shias and Sunnis. But Pope Benedict XVI's three-day visit was welcomed by calm, with even members of the armed Shia movement Hezbollah attending his welcoming ceremony. Benedict, the leader of the Catholic faith, expressed remorse over the worsening Syrian civil war and called on all sides to reconcile, and for other nations to do all they could to end the conflict.
