U2 in USSR: Spy plane crash still a mystery 50 years on official
Its fifty years since U.S. pilot Francis Gary Powers was shot down over the Soviet Union, marking a Cold War turning point. His U-2 spy plane was on a mission to film Soviet military bases, when the aircraft was hit by a surface-to-air missile.
