The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Catherine, also known as Kate, arrived in the Solomon Islands on Sunday (September 16).
People gathered around the perimeter of Honiara International Airport to get a glimpse of the royal couple, who touched down aboard a chartered Bombardier executive jet.
The couple will stay in the Solomon Islands until Tuesday (September 18). They will then travel to the Pacific nation of Tuvalu for one night on the last leg of their tour.
The Solomon Islands achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1978, though Queen Elizabeth II remains the country's head of state.
