Romney eschews foreign policy for economy

The US president has more impact on foreign policy than any other asepct of the US government, but Mitt Romney and the Republicans have so far not made it a priority of their campaign.

Though historically foreign policy and defence issues have been staples of the Republican party, the 2012 Republican National Convention has instead, largely focused on the economy.
