Sardinia workers protest over latest jobs threat

Dozens of workers have called for the Italian government to help keep an aluminium factory open on the island of Sardinia.

The loss-making plant, owned by US firm Alcoa, is set to close in November unless a buyer is found.

Hundreds of jobs are threatened in one of Italy's biggest unemployment blackspots.

Several workers joined a protest outside the factory on Thursday.
