J-Five - Modern Times

J-Five est né en 1983 à Los Angeles, en Californie. Dans la maison familiale de North Hollywood, son père d'origine française, et sa mère d'origine d'Europe de l'est, bercent l'enfance de J-Five au son des Beatles, de Led Zeppelin et des Rolling Stones. En grandissant, J-Five découvre le rap avec A Tribe Called Quest, Nas et le Wu Tang Clan, qui, eux aussi, influenceront sa musique. Il poursuit ses études à l'université de Los Angeles et se produit régulièrement en concert avec les Dusty White. A 21 ans, le rappeur américain entame sa carrière avec Modern Times, un 1er single qui rend hommage à un grand monsieur du cinéma: Charlie Chaplin. Le clip qui accompagne ce titre met en scène l'avant-première des Temps Modernes à New York en 1936 et inclut la participation de Dolores Chaplin, la petite fille de l'illustre acteur. Le 1er album de J-Five, Sweet Little Nothing, sort en novembre 2004.
