STORY: India's highly followed Hindu spiritual leader, Asaram Bapu on Wednesday (August 29) had a miraculous escape after his helicopter crash landed in Godhra of India's western state of Gujarat.
According to media reports, the chartered helicopter developed a technical snag mid air, following which it nose-dived on the playground of a local college.
Bapu and his co-passengers escaped with minor injuries and have been rushed immediately to nearby hospitals for medical aid.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and evacuated all passengers who are supposedly stable.
The religious leader was scheduled to attend a two-day religious event in the city.
