Violences rages in Syria's Homs

Hundreds of people are reported to have been killed in one of the bloodiest days of Syria's eleven month uprising.

Activists say Syrian forces are shelling the city of Homs. But state television says the bodies are those of civilians, kidnapped and killed by terrorists.

The United Nations is preparing to vote on a draft resolution calling for President Bashar al Assad to step down.
