A revived volcano in southern Japan erupted early Wednesday, its sixth since last week, shooting out a huge plume of gas and ash to a height of almost 2,000 metres. The danger zone around Shinmoedake volcano has been widened to keep residents safe. The latest eruption followed a larger one on Tuesday, which spewed ash and boulders, breaking windows 8 kilometres away.
