No tears for Kim Jong-il on S Korean island
  • 12 years ago
The grief following the death of Kim Jong-il, North Korea's leader, has been public and intense.

It has also triggered strong emotions on the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, situated along the maritime border with North Korea and which came under attack from the north 13 months ago, killing four people.

Many of the islanders have even refused to switch on their television sets to follow the North Korean leader's funeral and fear even worse attacks under his son Kim Jong-un.

Steve Chao reports from Yeonpyeong.
