About 2,000 workers gather in South Africa on a hill where police killed 34 miners earlier this month.

The striking rock driller operators are demanding a monthly wage of 1,500 dollars. They are currently paid about 1,150 dollars a month with an average monthly bonus of about 180 dollars.
