After 60 years of dictatorship, the government of Myanmar has started to some political prisoners and engaged in talks with pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

Some in the country, however, are dubious about the changes, asking why now and whether the proposed changes will endure in a nation that has seen its share of bloody uprisings.

Within the government however, officials say recent changes in the country are part of a planned gradual transition of power.
