The leader of a Brazilian indigenous tribe has been killed in shooting at his community's camp.

Witnesses say Nisio Gomes, the spiritual leader of the Gurani tribe was shot dead by masked gunmen.

The Police suspect cattle ranchers had ordered the attack as part of the latest assault relating to land disputes between indigenous groups and business.

Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports from Sao Paulo.
