Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev says he is not seeking a second term in office.
He says both the current prime minister, Vladimir Putin, who was constitutionally barred from running as president for a third straight term when Medlev took over, and himself, share the same goals.
The pair announced that they would swap roles after March's presidential election, in which Putin is almost certain to return to the Kremlin as president -- potentially for another 12 years.
But, a growing number of people feel the country's political stage is a puppet show. Many young people are leaving the country.
