Obama and Romney campaign before conventions

With the Republican and Democratic conventions around the corner, U.S. President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney each made a push in battleground states on Wednesday, trying to convince voters to support them in November.
In Iowa, Romney told voters he would work to build more jobs in America - and gave supporters this task:

"I want you to each find one person who voted for Barack Obama last time and convince them that we should take a different course. Remind them how disappointing its been over these last three and a half, four years."
Meanwhile, in Nevada, Obama took aim at his opponent's tax cut plan, telling the western state's voters his own plan would grow the middle class.

"The plan that Governor Romney has put forward would cut America's investment in education by nearly twenty percent. And here's the thing. He's not making these jobs because he wants to create jobs or pay down the deficit. He's doing it to pay for a new five trillion dollar tax cut that's weighted toward the wealthiest Americans."
According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the Romney-Ryan ticket 48 to 44 percent nationally - less than a week before the Republican National Convention in Florida.
