Former Maldives president threatens protests

The former president of the Maldives says he will organise more street protests unless new elections are held.

Mohamed Nasheed was removed from office on Tuesday in what he and his supporters are calling a coup.

But in an interview with Al Jazeera, the new president has rejected the idea of early elections. Has also warned Nasheed against stoking up unrest.

Al Jazeera's Steve Chao reports from the capital Male.
