As a percussionist, Bikram Ghosh figures prominently amongst the best in the World. He has a number of solo recordings and over forty accompaniment albums. He has played on the album 'Full Circle' with Ravi Shankar, an album that earned a Grammy Award. He has played with all the stalwarts of Indian Classical Music and is widely recognized for his incredible range on the tabla.
He has played seven time at Carnegie Hall, New York, four times at the Royal Albert Hall, London, eight times at the Barbican Centre and twice at the Kennedy Centre, Washington D.C. He is one of the very few tabla players who is equally at ease in both the Hindustani and Carnatic music traditions.
In Layaalayam Bikram Ghosh will be presenting his composition Rhythm Scape along with Parthasarathy Desikan (Vocals), S.Sekhar (mridangam), Sanjoy Das (guitar), Pulak Sarkar (keyboards) and V.Suresh (ghatam).
