Civilians targeted over Eid holiday in Syria

As Syrians observe Eid, the holiday marking the end of the month-long Ramadan fast, activists say 100 people died on the first day of the three-day-long festivities.

Some of the heaviest bombardment took place north of the city of Aleppo, where locals say the government artillery and jets pounding opposition strongholds have instead hit the area's non-combatant residents.

Al Jazeera's James Bays reports from Beirut.
