Many couples argue over petty issues, however some take those arguments too far. Most recently, a South Carolina man, who is also a public works commissioner was arrested for fighting with his wife. Police were dispatched to the home of 51-year-old, Perry Williams after his wife called emergency operators. The couple was reportedly arguing over a simple issue; whether or not key lime pie was considered a fruit which escalated into Williams throwing the pie at his wife. Although Williams’ wife opted not to press charges, there was evidence of physical abuse on her including a bloody nose and a facial scratch, leading to charges of criminal domestic violence.
In another report involving domestic violence, 40-year-old Tennessee resident, Lowell Turpin suspected his girlfriend of cheating and became enraged when he saw a photo of Mitt Romney on her Facebook page. Not recognizing Romney, Turpin smashed the laptop against a wall, then punched her in the face. He was arrested and charged with domestic assault.
