With half a lap left to of the 4x400 meter relay preliminaries Thursday at the London Olympics, US sprinter Manteo Mitchell felt a painful pop in his leg. Mitchell made the decision to continue the relay and help Team USA qualify for the final. Mitchell told The Associated Press after the race, "It felt like somebody literally just snapped my leg in half. I heard it and I felt it. But I figured it's what almost any person would've done in that situation."
