The Brides of Dracula (1960)_Μέρος 2

Touches of Tennessee Williams and Faulkner's Southern gothicism find their way into this one, oddly enough, and David Peel, who was unfortunately ignored after the film's release, is a far more ambivalent sexual presence than Christopher Lee: he lusts for both Marianne and Van Helsing. Peter Cushing is utterly magnificent as the latter, and Martita Hunt lends class and style as the Baroness. The glorious supporting cast includes Michael Ripper and Miles Malleson, and director Terence Fisher reins color and atmosphere into service to the general weirdness. A true classic, this can stand with the best Hammers.
