I love all Andy Kirk recordings and my favourite by his 12 Clouds of Joy is, "What Will I tell My Heart".
Thank you for sharing this wonderful rendition of a much loved song. The images are superb.

Patrick, Lana, yes, in 1920/30s Kansas City was on map of jazz centres, the swing-Florence of its time. Bennie Moten and Count Basie were the brightest stars, yet before them - the absolutely sensational Coon-Sanders Nighthawks - drove in the musicians from other places. Also, in Kansas City the liquor laws and hours were totally ignored - fact that must have helped the reputation of the city as mecca for the jazz makers. Thank you for your comments!

I do hear some reminiscence to the Ink Spots, thanks Jack, you were spot on! I love this gently swinging yet dreamy song... as well as the nostalgic excursion back to 1920s Kansas City. Thank you, Grzegorz!

Hello Grzegorz - this a most lovely upload for a nice summer night which are relatively rare this summer since - as you well know - the heat has been - mercilessly - sizzling Chicago and other place in the U.S. I know that Poland also has crazy weather this summer. Even though as you know - how they say - "that - too - shall pass"- neverthelss - I am fervently looking forward towards the beautiful fall - my most favorite season - anyway. Have a great, cool week and thanks for this vid!!!
