Fire Accident in TAMILNADU EXPRESS at NELLORE

more than 34 Passengers were killed and several others injured when flames erupted in one of the coach of train no. 12622 -- New Delhi-Chennai Tamilnadu Exp -- near Nellore railway station in Andhra Pradesh, early today. Eye witnesses said the S-11 coach of the train was gutted in fire due to electric short circuit. The fire officials who put out the fire and the boggy was separated from rest of the coaches. Nellore District Superintendent of police, District Collector, Revenue offfices have visited the spot and monitoring the rescue operations. The Collector said a helpline were arranged at the District Collector Office and Government Head Quarter Hospital. The movement of several trains of busy Chennai- Vijayawada route was affected due to the accident. The passengers travelling in other coaches of the train, left for Chennai through other alternative modes.
