Lead poisoning continues to stalk Nigeria

Ongoing unsafe gold mining by Nigerians in search of a better life has gone unchecked by the government, which has not done enough to spread safe mining practices or clean poisoned villages, Doctors Without Borders has said.

Villages cleaned by foreign aid groups are showing new traces of lead as children continue to show symptoms of sometimes deadly exposure.
