The Mabira rainforest in Uganda has been protected since 1932 - but now the Government has revived a plan to give away nearly one-quarter of it to grow sugar cane.

Environmentalists say the government is killing the future of the country's forests, while officials say they are only clearing damaged and unsustainable areas.

Al Jazeera's Malcolm Webb reports from Kampala.
