The Olympics always brings many travelers, athletes and sports fans alike from all over the world to whatever major city it’s being held in. But the Olympic games in London are facing a serious traveling issue as members of the Public and Commercial Services, or PCS, Union are set to go on a 24 hour strike a day before the summer games begin. Members of the union include the United Kingdom Border Agency, and Identity and Passport Services staff. Union leaders are claiming that pay cuts and privatization of the industry are the reason for the strike.

Regarding the situation, the General Secretary for the PCS union said: "The lives of staff have been made intolerable by these cuts, and they're at breaking point.”

Bus drivers in London were given working bonuses to prevent them from striking, after threatening a walk out. About 57 percent of PCS Union members voted in favor of the strike, which is to take place on July 26th, with PCS “planning further action throughout the Olympics,” according to Time magazine.
