Tension has remained high in Karachi, Pakistan's financial capital, after more than 70 people were killed in gang violence in the last 10 days.
In the latest and worst incident, 13 people were shot dead by unknown assailants in a busy market area. The wave of attacks comes despite some 30,000 police guarding the city.
Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports from Karachi on plans to recruit thousands of more officers, even though some analysts say the move will not help. They say the situation calls for different solutions.
