At least 200 children in Nigeria have died of lead poisoning, while another 18,000 people may be affected.

Women and children came into contact with such lethal levels of lead from the mining for gold in their villages.

The United Nations has sent an emergency team of scientists to Nigeria to investigate this deadly outbreak.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Abuja, Nigeria's capital city.
