Have you seen those videos of a deer getting revenge on hunters by pummeling them with their hooves? Unfortunately for one Maryland woman, that scenario became a reality, but with a rabid twist. According to the Cumberland Times-News, Theresa Stevens was kicked in the face and shoulder after surprising a deer outside her home. The doe took refuge under her car, and Stevens gave the animal a bucket of water. She contracted rabies after touching the water, allowing the deer’s saliva to come in contact with cuts on her hands. The sick deer was euthanized, leaving Stevens to receive rabies vaccinations.
