Celebration and song supporting Syrian rebels, who claim to have taken towns in Aleppo.

Building momentum, rebel fighting goes on in the Syrian capital of Damascus following a major offensive on Wednesday when a bomber killed three of President Bashar al-Assad's top security officials.

Amateur video here claims to show a Syrian-Iraqi border post in Abu Kamal after it was attacked by Syrian rebels and abandoned by government forces.

The content of the video cannot be independently verified by Reuters, mainly due to Syrian media restrictions.

The head of the security and defence committee in the Iraqi parliament told a local television station that rebels were in control of the Abu Kamal crossing.

Syrian rebels also claim that they have taken control of two other border crossings.
