Credit Suisse has hired Chris Gaertner from Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a high-ranking technology banker, the firm announced in an internal memorandum obtained by DealBook on Tuesday.
When he starts in July, Mr. Gaertner will become a managing director and the head of global corporate finance for the tech group, according to the memo from Mark Simonian and David Wah, Credit Suisse’s global co-heads of technology, media and telecom investment banking.
At Merrill Lynch, which he joined in 2005, Mr. Gaertner advised Autonomy when it sold itself to Hewlett-Packard and Lawson Software when it was sold to Golden Gate Capital. He led Merrill’s tech group from 2006 to 2008.
A Credit Suisse spokesman confirmed the contents of the memo, but declined further comment.
