Drunken 'Batman' Directs Traffic - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

Recently, drivers in the city of Plymouth in the United Kingdom were entertained and possibly annoyed after an intoxicated man decided to direct traffic. Police were sent to Cecil Street to deal with a male standing in the middle of the road, trying to direct cars while wobbling on his feet. The 36 year old was asked to go home, but instead went to a local pub, from where he got quickly thrown out. Law enforcement was called again and found him yelling, swearing and referring to himself as ‘Batman’; the commotion leading to his arrest with court officials stating he ‘caused havoc’.

Several years ago, a 25 year old woman was arrested in Australia, after directing traffic in the early morning hours while intoxicated. To make matters even more dangerous, she was sitting on a horse while trying to route drivers. Last year, a mother of five was directing traffic after her car ran out of gas with her children inside. Police arrived and arrested her for failing to supply a breath specimen resulting in the loss of her license for 13 months.
