A recent study has concluded that more than 25% of teens have texted or e-mailed nude photos of themselves. The research, published in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, surveyed 948 high school teenagers from 7 different Texas public schools. In addition to the ‘sexting’ discovery, researchers also concluded that 31% have asked for someone to send a ‘sext’ and 57% had been asked to send an illicit text of themselves. The study found that young girls who have participated in naughty text messages were more likely to exercise risky sexual behavior, however most of the students that had been asked to ‘sext’ were troubled by the request.

Another disturbing study performed in 2011 interviewed 328 females in Massachusetts health clinics and found that 1 in 13 teenage girls had partaken in group sex. The findings concluded that the average age of those who had acted in muti-person sex was around 15.5 years old and 45 % of the same females claimed to have had recent unprotected sex, making it a priority for parents to talk to their kids about sex and STD’s before it’s too late.
