Restaurant Owner Dies Shortly After Obama's Visit - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

Elderly restaurant owner Josephine “Ann” Harris in Akron, Ohio died reportedly of a heart attack just hours after President Barrack Obama ate breakfast at her restaurant, called Ann’s Place. Ann didn’t know that the President was making a stop at her establishment until the morning of, when Obama sat down with three Goodyear employees who were invited to have a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast with the President and discuss trade practices.

“As a small-business owner, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and friend of many throughout the community, Ann led an exceptional life and will be missed by all who knew her,” Greg Schultz, the Ohio director of Obama’s campaign told the Akron Beacon Journal in an email. Obama was the first President to eat at Ann’s Place in the restaurant’s 30-year history. The President expressed his condolences for the loss personally with a phone call to the family. They recorded the conversation and told Obama how much his visit meant to Ann, who passed away with a progeny of five children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
