This workshop invites specialists in the field to expose their point of view on the MIRs of today and tomorrow in the creative domain - for composition, interaction, performances - or in the field of research for audio signals, for symbolic representations, or for data bases.
Music Information Retrieval (MIR) has, for a long time, been involved with the extraction of existing, recorded musical information to facilitate searching, browsing, and access to collections of music.
How is MIR, by becoming Music Information Research, now used in the creative process?
With Gérard Assayag, Geoffroy Peeters, Norbert Schnell, Diemo Schwarz (IRCAM), Philippe Manoury (composer), Tristan Jehan (EchoNest), François Pachet (SonyCSL), Sergi Jorda (IUA/UPF).
This workshop is presented in the framework of the European project MIReS supported by the European Commission's ICT Program.
