German industry has launched an initiative for training future managers in Sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of the program is to encourage closer ties between future African managers and German business, laying a foundation for lasting economic cooperation. Germany's collaboration with the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa has gained a higher priority on the political level in recent years.
We talked with Lucy Wanjiku in Nairobi. She was part of the first training group in 2009 and got her training with Continental in Hanover. Today she is the head of the waste water treatment and recycling division with a major sanitation company.
