The Miami Heat and LeBron James beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of the 2012 NBA finals in Miami to give LeBron his first ring in nine seasons in the National Basketball League.

Since the age 15, when he graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, LeBron seemed destined for greatness, but his perceived arrogance and sense of entitlement made him the NBA star people loved to hate. He failed to advance to the NBA finals in seven seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers and was accused of quitting during the 2010 playoffs.

LeBron left Cleveland fans feeling angered and betrayed when he announced that he was leaving the join the Miami Heat in an infamous hour-long ESPN TV show called The Decision. LeBron and the Heat made it to the NBA finals against Dallas last year, but LeBron disappeared in the fourth quarter and the Mavericks won the title.

What a difference a year makes. Miami beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games and LeBron dominated the 2012 NBA Finals. LeBron scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds and 13 assists, leading the Heat to a 121-106 rout of Oklahoma City on Thursday. Now James is not only recognized as the best player in the NBA. He's also finally on the best team.
