CGRundertow JUNGLE HUNT for Arcade Video Game Review
  • 12 years ago
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of the arcade game Jungle Hunt from Taito. Released to arcades in 1882 — I mean, 1982 — Jungle Hunt is an early platformer in the spirit of games like Donkey Kong and movies like The Birth of a Nation. You play as an affluent hunter named Sir Dudley Dashley. His lady has been kidnapped by savages, and that's when Dudley springs into action. In addition to beating Resident Evil 5 to the punch by almost 30 years, Jungle Hunt is also an old-school side-scroller comprised of four levels. Dudley has to swing across the jungle, swim through a crocodile-infested river and run up a crumbling mountain pass before finally getting to the savages, who have Penelope tied above a boiling pot of savage stew. This video review features video gameplay footage of the arcade game Jungle Hunt and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
