Absent Minded Window Gazing – A parable by Franz Kafka. About the author – Franz Kafka (1883 – 1924) was an influential German author known for his novels and short stories. During his lifetime, he published only a few short stories but never finished any of his full length novels. A peculiar feature of Kafka's work is the extensive use of a characteristic particular to the German language allowing for long sentences that sometimes can span an entire page.
