Dj Quik is an MC not a rapper. He was talkin about what was goin on in that era more than rappin a song and puttin a hook line on it. There was a bigger message in alot of his songs. He is a harder form of "PUBLIC ENEMY" but unique enough to be considered in a league of his own at that time.
