Thief Steals 400,000 Toothpicks - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

In an event that will no doubt be dubbed the toothpick heist of the century, a thief in Athens, Georgia has made off with 3 thousand dollars worth of wooden toothpicks. Six cases of toothpicks were taken and then two weeks later another seven cases were missing. Police found no indication of forced entry, but the manufacturer is out of some 400 thousand toothpicks, and suspects a current or former employee. Two employees reportedly saw someone selling the Armond brand toothpicks at a flea market.

There are many examples of unusual robberies. A ten foot, one hundred fifty pound cigarette replica that was reported stolen from a home in Silver Spring, Maryland has been found, but it is missing its filter. Torn to pieces by a chainsaw, the sculpture was found behind a local middle school.

One victim of theft exacted revenge on the man who stole his camcorder by posting on the internet the videos that the thief recorded of himself.
